Aide européenne aux réfugiés

La Commission européenne a approuvé 11,8 millions d'euros (10,4 millions de dollars) d'aide humanitaire aux réfugiés du Sahara occidental pour l'année 2001, a rapporté la commission mercredi. L'argent sera utilisé pour l'achat de nourriture, d'articles non alimentaires et pour prendre soin des femmes, des enfants et des personnes âgées qui forment la majorité des groupes vulnérables parmi les réfugiés. La plupart des réfugiés saharaouis ont vécu dans les camps à Tindouf, en Algérie, depuis que le conflit avec le Maroc a éclaté en 1975 autour de la souveraineté de l'ancienne colonie espagnole.
