Visa facilitation can prove key in getting assistance to those who need it most
    BANGKOK

    يلتقي أكثر من 2,000 شخص اليوم في العاصمة الصينية بكين للمشاركة في الملتقى العالمي السابع عشر لطب الكوارث والطوارئ.

    ويهدف الحدث الذي يستمر أربعة أيام، والذي تنظمه الرابطة العالمية لطب الطوارئ والكوارث والجمعية الطبية الصينية، إلى تبادل النتائج العلمية الرائدة من أجل تحسين الاستجابة للكوارث، وذلك بمشاركة أكثر من 500 محاضر من 60 بلداً.

    وقالت ديباراتي جوها سابير، مديرة مركز بحوث أوبئة الكوارث التابع لمنظمة الصحة العالمية لشبكة الأنباء الإنسانية (إيرين) أن "هذا الملتقى يعقد منذ مدة طويلة ويحظى بالاحترام، حيث تناقش فيه أحدث التطورات في التقنيات والاكتشافات العلمية". وستقدم جوها سابير بحثاً حول خطر الوفاة والإصابة جراء الزلازل.

    وأوضحت جوها سابير أن الزلازل التي ضربت كل من سيتشوان (2008) وهايتي (2010) وباكستان (2005) كشفت عن وجود فجوات معرفية حول أنماط الإصابات والوفيات، مضيفة أنه "دون توفر المعلومات، من الصعب القيام باستعدادات فعالة".
