Les élections parlementaires reportées

La Commission nationale électorale du Togo a reporté à une date ultérieure les élections parlementaires qui étaient prévues pour dimanche. Elle a annoncé sa décision vendredi, en ajoutant que "des raisons indépendantes de sa volonté" l'avaient forcée à reporter le scrutin, ont indiqué des agences d'information.

Le report était attendu à cause d'un manque de préparation parmi d'autres choses. Une équipe des Nations Unies a recommandé le report du scrutin d'au moins quatre mois. Le scrutin devait remplacer les élections législatives de 1999, que l'opposition avait boycottées après avoir accusé le gouvernement de truquer les élections présidentielles vers le milieu de 1998.
