Coup d'envoi de la campagne électorale

Quinze partis politiques, y compris le Parti républicain démocratique et social (PRDS) au pouvoir, ont commencé à faire campagne mercredi pour les élections municipales et législatives mauritaniennes du 19 octobre.

L'Agence Frence Presse (AFP) a rapporté que le PRSD était considéré comme le favori. Il sera néanmoins confronté à une concurrence farouche de l'Action pour le changement (AC), du Rassemblement des forces démocratiques (RFD) et de partis plus radicaux qui avaient systématiquement boycotté les élections, a ajouté l'AFP. Plus d'un million d'électeurs sont inscrits pour le scrutin de cette année.

La campagne s'achèvera le 17 octobre.
