أفغانستان: أمهات يقدمن الأفيون لأطفالهن

    تعتبر أفغانستان أكبر منتج للأفيون في العالم. وقد تعوّد القرويون في المناطق النائية من إقليم بداخشان، شمال شرق أفغانستان، على استعماله كبديل للدواء دون أن يعوا مخاطره على صحتهم.

    ولا تتوفر أية بيانات رسمية حول عدد المدمنين في بداخشان، إلا أن مكتب الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة المخدرات والجريمة يفيد بوجود حوالي مليون مدمن على المخدرات هناك، من بينهم 45,000 امرأة.

    ويظهر هذا الفيلم القصير نساءً يدخنّ الأفيون في قرية جوخان النائية الواقعة في منطقة بداخشان الجبلية. وفي الوقت الذي تستمر فيه الجهود لإعادة تأهيل المدمنين على المخدرات في القرية، تواصل بيبي ملا وأقرباؤها وأصحابها تدخين الأفيون في البيت لثلاث مرات في اليوم وإعطاءه لأطفالهم كذلك.
