تايلاند تستضيف مباحثات مهمة حول تغير المناخ

    BANGKOK

    يجتمع هذا الأسبوع في العاصمة التايلاندية بانكوك نحو 2,500 مشارك لبدء جولة جديدة من المباحثات بالغة الأهمية من أجل التوصل إلى اتفاق حول محاربة ظاهرة الاحتباس الحراري.

    وتعقد محادثات بانكوك حول تغير المناخ، وهي الجولة قبل الأخيرة من المفاوضات ضمن اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة الإطارية بشأن تغير المناخ، في الفترة من 28 سبتمبر وحتى 9 أكتوبر وتهدف إلى إحراز تقدم في صياغة نص الاتفاقية. كما تأتي هذه المحادثات قبل شهرين تقريباً من مؤتمر الأمم المتحدة المعني بتغير المناخ الذي سيعقد في كوبنهاغن في ديسمبر المقبل حيث ستجتمع 192 دولة في محاولة للتوقيع على اتفاق حول تغير المناخ قبل انتهاء بروتوكول كيوتو عام 2012.

    وفي الوقت الذي يشهد فيه تقدم المفاوضات بعض التعثر، حث الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة بان كي مون الأسبوع الماضي الدول على تجاوز خلافاتها حول تقاسم عبء خفض الانبعاثات وغيرها من القضايا والتوصل إلى اتفاق بهذا الشأن. وقال بان كي مون في اجتماع الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة في 23 سبتمبر: "دعونا في هذا العام، نحن الأمم المتحدة، نرتقي إلى مستوى التحدي الأكبر الذي نواجهه كأسرة إنسانية.. وهو الخطر الكارثي لتغير المناخ".

    وأضاف قائلاً: "يحتم الطريق إلى كوبنهاغن علينا تسوية خلافاتنا. وأعتقد أننا نستطيع القيام بذلك دون شك".
