Former Nigeria Airways director Bernard Banfa sold two almost brand new planes for US $30 million some 15 years ago, AFP reported an official of the airline as saying on Thursday.

Captain Titi Omoghomhi, former director of operations, told a board of inquiry charged with investigating allegations of mismanagement and corruption in the airline, that Banfa had ordered him to fly one of the planes out of the country on 30 June 1985. The client, a South American, confirmed that he bought the planes from Banfa for some US $15 million each, AFP reported Omoghomhi as saying.
