Government wants interim defence force

    NAIROBI
    Finance Minister James Jonah said the government was setting up an interim defence force of some 15,000 soldiers, news agencies reported. The force would probably incorporate existing civil defence groups, including the Kamajor traditional hunters currently fighting alongside the government against the rebels, BBC quoted Jonah as saying. Jonah said the interim force would fill the gap in the event of a withdrawal of ECOMOG from the country. =
