'HRW' fait état de graves atrocités dans le nord et à l'est

Les derniers massacres de civils dans le nord et l'est de la Sierra Leone sont "les plus sérieux" survenus depuis plusieurs mois, a rapporté ce mardi 'Human Rights Watch' (HRW).

L'organisation a informé que la milice Forces de défense civile (CDF), pro-gouvernementale, et le Front révolutionnaire uni (RUF), hostile au gouvernement, avaient tué des civils à Kono, à l'est du pays, et à Koinadugu, dans le nord. "Les civils sont pris pour cible dans des batailles de représailles meurtrières", a dénoncé le directeur exécutif d'HRW pour l'Afrique, Peter Takirambudde. 'HRW' a demandé aux Nations Unies de déployer des troupes dans la région le plus vite possible.
