Un programme de sécurité alimentaire est proposé

Le gouvernement nigérian et l'Organisation des Nations Unies pour l'alimentation et l'agriculture (FAO) ont signé un mémorandum d'accord en vue de l'exécution d'un programme de sécurité alimentaire, a rapporté vendredi 'The Guardian'.

Le Programme spécial proposé sur la sécurité alimentaire au Nigeria, qui a bénéficié de l'appui de la FAO et de la Banque mondiale, coûtera environ 45,24 millions de naira (404 000 dollars) sur une période quinquennale d'exécution. Le programme cherche à promouvoir et à reproduire des systèmes de production qui répondraient aux besoins des cultivateurs en vue de l'amélioration de leurs moyens d'existence et de la sécurité alimentaire, toujours selon le quotidien de Lagos.
