Des experts agricoles chinois attendus

Vingt-huit experts chinois vont aider à mettre en oeuvre un projet de sécurité alimentaire oú 9,5 millions d'hectares de terres, infestés par le verre onchocercose, seront cultivés, a rapporté lundi l'agence de presse du Ghana (GNA).

Le ministre de l'agriculture, Courage Quasigah a indiqué lundi, à l'issue d'un atelier d'un jour sur le développement socioéconomique dans la zone libérée de l'onchocerccose, que les Chinois travailleraient avec les agriculteurs dans les régions du Nord et du Grand Est. Organisé par le PNUD, la Banque mondiale, la FAO, l'OMS et le Secrétariat Oncho National, l'atelier a également examiné la faisabilité du projet sur une période de cinq ans pour renforcer l'éducation, les soins de santé, l'infrastructure et l'irrigation, a rapporté GNA.
