تم إلغاء الرقّ رسمياً في موريتانيا عام 1981 ولكن ما يزال في البلاد نحو 155,000 عبد من عبيد العصر الحديث، معظمهم من الحراطين.

ويعاني الكثيرون ممن تم تحريرهم من التمييز والعنف والظلم الاجتماعي. 

في هذا التحقيق المصور تروي خمس نساء محررات من الحراطين لشبكة الأنباء الإنسانية (إيرين) ما شهدنه أثناء سنوات العبودية وكيف أصبحت حياتهن الآن.
