Okelo recommends UN return to Freetown

    The UN Special Representative for Sierra Leone, Francis Okelo, has recommended the return of UN staff to Freetown as the situation has now stabilised. Speaking to the press after addressing the Security Council yesterday, he commended the “very effective action” of the ECOMOG intervention force. “The international community should provide assistance to deal with Sierra Leone’s acute humanitarian problems,” Okelo said.
