Rotation of training team

    LAGOS
    Britain is to send a replacement training team to Sierra Leone in September, the British Ministry of Defence said on 22 August. The instructors will replace 300 of their colleagues from the 1st Batallion of The Royal Irish Regiment who have been training government troops in Benguema, just southeast of Freetown, since July. Over 3,000 Sierra Leonean troops will have completed the programme at the end of this training cycle. Britain is also supplying personal kit for the trainees.
