Une organisation américaine offre 500 vaches hybrides aux fermiers

    L'organisation américaine pour le développement international (USAID) en
    collaboration avec Heifer Project International (HPI) ont offert aux
    fermiers rwandais 2 millions de dollars, soit l'équivalent de 500 vaches
    hybrides, selon des responsables d'USAID cités mercredi par l'agence
    rwandaise d'information (RNA). 85 vaches hybrides sont arrivées mercredi à
    Kigali d'Afrique du Sud et huit autres seront envoyées d'Ouganda, a précisé
    RNA. Selon le ministre de l'agriculture, Ephraim Kabaija, cité par l'agence,
    les comités de développement communautaires livreront des vaches aux
    fermiers pauvres, "une initiative qui s'inscrit dans le cadre de
    l'engagement du gouvernement à éradiquer la pauvreté au Rwanda". M. Kabaija
    a expliqué que les femmes, en tant que "groupe marginalisé", bénéficieront
    davantage que les hommes de ce projet. Les premiers bénéficiaires
    transmettront ensuite la progéniture de leurs vaches aux personnes qui
    n'auront rien reçu.
