US aid for refugees

    ABIDJAN

    The United States has made available some $27 million to help refugees, a White House memorandum to the Secretary of State said on Thursday. The money, drawn from the US Emergency Refugee and Migration Assistance Fund, is to meet “unexpected urgent refugee and migration needs, including those of refugees, displaced persons, conflict victims, and other persons at risk,” the memorandum said. African countries to benefit from this fund include Eritrea, Guinea and Sierra Leone.
