ACF to send 12 mt of supplies for IDPs

The Spanish chapter of Action contre la Faim (ACF-Action against Hunger) is sending 12 mt of relief aid for some 150,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Guinea, the humanitarian organisation reported on Wednesday. A shipment of therapeutic milk, rehydration salts and water pumping systems is due to leave Barcelona on Friday, Accion contra el Hambre (ACH) said. The supplies will go to some 70,000 persons in an IDP camp in Albadaria, 7,000 in Dabola and 30,000 still in the Parrot’s Beak. The Beak is a thumb of land that juts into Sierra Leone and from which tens of thousands of people were displaced by fighting between Guinean forces and assailants who reportedly crossed into Guinea from Sierra Leone and Liberia.
