Cristovao Lwemba, a Cabinda correspondent for the Catholic broadcasting station, ‘Radio Ecclesia’ was allegedly beaten by two police officers last week when he was stopped on his way to a meeting with the local bishop, the station reported.
“The correspondent presented his documentation which identified him as a journalist for ‘Radio Ecclesia’. As he produced this, the two individuals started beating him,” the radio station. Although he did not suffer major injuries, ‘Radio Ecclesia” cited it as “another violent attack” against a journalist in Angola.
