Zambian President Frederick Chiluba said his country and Angola had resolved a potentially destructive dispute over Luanda’s accusations of Zambian support for UNITA rebels.
Chiluba told Reuters in an interview on Sunday that a bilateral deal witnessed in Swaziland last week by South Africa, Swaziland and Mozambique was sealed: “The issue has been conclusively resolved and I am happy to note that intelligence chiefs from the two countries agreed to treat the allegations as bygones and to work together for peace in the region.”
