Annan welcomes report

    NAIROBI

    UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan hailed the OAU report as "another important contribution towards efforts to shed more light on the tragedy that unfolded in Rwanda". "The Secretary-General hopes that this report will make an effective contribution to the success of the international community's ongoing efforts as it continues to grapple with the complex challenges of preventing genocide," a UN press release stated.
