Medical specialists threaten strike

    ABIDJAN

    Specialists at Zimbabwe’s largest referral hospital have given the government a one-week ultimatum to release additional funding or they will stop admitting patients, the ‘Zimbabwe Independent’ reported on Friday.

    The specialists at Parirenyatwa are demanding a US $600,000 financial injection by the government to prop up the institution. They said budgetary allocations have been too low, and the hospital was short of essential drugs and serviceable equipment.
