Sabena restarts flights Bujumbura

    NAIROBI

    The Belgian national carrier, Sabena, said it would restart flights to Bujumbura at the end of October after a break of some four years. These flights were stopped on 6 August 1996 as a consequence of the economic embargo imposed on the country at that time. Sabena nevertheless maintained a representation on site.

    Sabena will operate one flight a week - every Monday - with an Airbus A330-200. From Bujumbura the flight will continue to the Kenyan capital Nairobi, before returning to Brussels.

    The first flight from Brussels is due to arrive in Bujumbura at eight p.m. local time (18:00 GMT). The aircraft will then leave at nine p.m. local time and arrive in Nairobi at 11.30 p.m. (20:30 GMT).
