More West Side Boys surrender.

    ABIDJAN

    Another 63 West Side Boys surrendered with their weapons on Sunday to Nigerian UNAMSIL troops at Port Loko, UNAMSIL spokeswoman Hirut Befecadu told IRIN. She said on Monday that of the group 10 were children and 20 women. The previous day 11 other members of the band - and their leader ‘Colonel Savage’ - gave themselves up.

    Describing the overall security situation in the country as calm, she said the Revolutionary United Front, another anti-government force, had remained quiet since the British raid on the West Side Boys’ stronghold in the Occra Hills on 10 September. RUF activity has been confined to a segment in the north, close to the border with Guinea, she said.
