Kids benefit from UNESCO AIDS resource kit

    JOHANNESBURG

    School age children in Uganda, South Africa and Gambia are benefiting from an HIV/AIDS resource kit launched by the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).

    The kit, titled "Living and Learning in a World with HIV/AIDS", was developed to help teachers, students and parents promote a healthy environment in schools for children infected with and affected by HIV and AIDS.

    Augustine Omare, the secretary general of Uganda's national commission for UNESCO, said during the recent launch of the kit that greater effort was needed to complement young people's knowledge of the pandemic.
