Huge AIDS control programme announced

    JOHANNESBURG

    International health care company, Hope and Care, have announced the launch of a project in 53 African countries to deliver relief and care to orphans and people living with HIV/AIDS.

    In a statement the organisation said its "Hope on Africa" project aimed to provide health care to 25 million HIV-positive people, as well as education for 191 million orphans and youth.

    The project will be sending 7,500 therapists to Africa to administer HIV/AIDS treatment, with the goal of reversing the spread of the pandemic.

    Hope and Care said that through education and health care it also hoped to keep parents alive for longer, to care for their children and help reduce the orphan population.
