A team of top medics and junior administrators at Kenya's University of Nairobi have published a policy document to help guide the institution's existing anti-HIV/AIDS campaigns.
The document's release follows concerns that AIDS-related deaths at the university were on the rise.
Research shows that AIDS-related deaths among university staff had more than doubled during the 1990s and mortality had increased by 200 percent over the last 20 years.
Prof Crispus Kiamba, vice-chancellor of the University, said implementing the policy would make the war against HIV/AIDS one of the university's top priorities.
Kiamba was quoted by local newspaper, the East African Standard as saying: "This is one war which the university community and the country as a whole must win, for the sake of the present generation for posterity."
