AIDS charter to be released

    JOHANNESBURG

    A Zambian AIDS NGO on Friday welcomed the announcement of the country's soon-to-be-released HIV/AIDS Human Rights Charter.

    The November launch of the charter was announced earlier this week by its working group, Women and Law in Southern Africa.

    The Network of Zambian People Living with HIV/AIDS (NZP+) said the document would help enhance public knowledge about the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS.

    "The charter could serve as a monitoring tool for measuring progress in changing laws and policies to provide protection for people living with HIV/AIDS," NZP+ programmes officer, Clement Mufuzi, told the UN news service PlusNews.
