Ruling in favour of Ethiopia, government says

    NAIROBI

    The Ethiopian government on Saturday said the independent Boundary Commission on border delimitation with Eritrea had ruled in favour of Ethiopia.

    "The Ethio-Eritrea Boundary Commission gave on Saturday its final and binding crucial decision in favour of Ethiopia’s incontrovertible evidence as presented to The Hague international tribunal," a government statement said, according to the Ethiopian News Agency (ENA).

    The statement said the commission "has decided that Badme, Zalambessa, Ayiga, Erobe, Alitena, Bada and others [are] to be part of the Ethiopian sovereign territory".

    "The ruling of the Boundary Commission is fair and appropriate," the statement added.
