700 Ugandan soldiers pull out of east

A total of 700 Ugandan soldiers (UPDF) have left the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) for Bura village, located at the Ugandan border, DRC government-owned RTNC radio reported in Kinshasa on Wednesday. The UPDF forces walked 600 km from the interior of the DRC after their Rwandan "allies" prevented them from using the airport of Kisangani. Three UPDF battalions will remain based in the eastern DRC towns of Beni, Buta, and Bunia. According to the Kampala government, such a measure is necessary in light of rebel groups still launching attacks on Uganda from that region.
