War veterans and supporters of the ruling ZANU-PF party were selling goods from farms they looted in Mashonaland West after last month's violence in the province, 'The Standard' has reported.
'The Standard' said that during a recent visit to Two Trees farm, Long Valley farm, Highbury Estate, Scorner farm and Costworld Estate in the Lions Den and Doma areas last week, scores of people could be seen selling goods ranging from farming tools to tractors.
The farms were among those affected by looting which took place last month. Several farm houses remained empty after they were deserted by commercial farmers driven away by ZANU-PF supporters, the report said. Last month war veterans launched a series of attacks on farms in Chinhoyi and Doma, destroying property worth millions of dollars and forcing 60 farms to be evacuated.
