Security Council "brainstorms" on peace process

The UN Security Council met on Thursday for what Council President Jean-David Levitte of France called a "brainstorming session" on the situation in Burundi, the UN announced. Council members were briefed by three members of the UN Secretariat, including Under Secretary-General for Political Affairs Kieran Prendergast, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General in the Great Lakes Region, Berhanu Dinka, and Under Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations Jean-Marie Guehenno.
