Rehabilitation assessment mission for Kono

    ABIDJAN

    An interagency assessment/planning mission will take place on 10 September in Kono to monitor the movement of returning refugees into the eastern district and assess the rehabilitation needed to its damaged infrastructure, UNHCR reported in its weekly update for 3-9 September.

    Team members will consist of protection, reintegration and education officers. UNHCR said the team would also plan for the potentially large number of Sierra Leonean refugees expected to return to this district, where 6,000 combatants disarmed recently.
