Somalia’s interior minister from the Transitional National Government (TNG), Dahir Shaykh Muhammad, who is currently visiting Egypt, has received assurances that Egypt will help train and restructure Somalia’s security forces, the Egyptian News Agency MENA reported on Tuesday. The announcement was made by the Egyptian interior minister, Habib al-Adli, after meeting his Somali counterpart, said MENA. The agency quotes Al-Adli as saying that the Egyptian interior ministry “is keen on expanding cooperation with Somalia within the framework of rebuilding the Somali police force”.
