A spokesman for WFP in Mozambique told IRIN on Tuesday that WFP is currently feeding about 236,000 people in the southern Gaza Province.
Inyene Udoyen said that of these an estimated 6,000 people were still in government accommodation centres. He said that the government had allocated plots to people but most of them do not have sufficient materials to start building. He said that the main problem was getting materials to people so that they could start building.
“Seeds and tools have been and are being distributed, though a lot of areas are still too waterlogged for planting,” he said.
