Women demonstrate for access to media

    ABIDJAN

    A thousand female supporters of the opposition Union des forces democratiques marched through the streets of Nouakchott on Saturday, demanding equal access for all political parties to state-owned media, AFP reported. They also asked that the status of women be dictated by Islamic Sharia laws and not by western values.
