NGO’s focus on children

A three-day NGO conference aimed at examining the condition of West African children opened in the Malian capital, Bamako, on Monday, AFP reported. Child trafficking, AIDS and its impact on children, and child labour are among the issues addressed by the participants representing West and Central Africa nations. The Bamako conference was organised in preparation for the United Nations World Summit on Children to be held in 2001.
