Kenya could soon see the development of 120 new HIV/AIDS voluntary counselling and testing (VCT) facilities, a local newspaper, The East African Standard, has reported.
The project is the result of a partnership between the US Centre for Disease Control (CDC) and the Kenyan government, and aims to ensure effective HIV/AIDS control and management.
Dr June Odoyo, the CDC regional coordinator for Kenya, said the partnership was vital as the existing 230 VCT centres were too few to effectively provide services to the public.
Odoyo said: "We will also provide technical support to the VCT facilities to ensure they are competently run and managed."
