German funding for agriculture, health

    OUAGADOUGOU

    The German government has agreed to provide funding to the sum of 18.450 billion CFA (about US $26.6 million) for "vital" development projects in agriculture, health, water and sanitation in Burkina Faso.

    This was announced on Tuesday by Burkina Faso's Finance Ministry.

    The funding is a result of negotiations launched last year between the two governments. It will be used, among other things, to build and improve rural roads, and to boost HIV/AIDS protection by increasing the distribution of condoms.
