Oil workers begin strike

Oil workers in Nigeria have begun a strike for better wages, the British Broadcasting Corporation reported on Monday.

The move could affect all petroleum companies operating in the country. It reportedly was partly motivated by a disparity between local and expatriate wages. Oil accounts for nearly all of Nigeria’s export earnings.
