A referendum on a new constitution is to be held in Senegal on 27 November, news organisations reported President Abdoulaye Wade as announcing on Monday in Dakar. A committee of experts is working on the draft constitution, which contains modifications to the powers of the president and prime minister, according to media reports. The referendum will be followed by early legislative elections, AFP reported. Parliament is dominated by the former ruling Parti Socialiste (PS).
