Salary adjustments for civil servants

    Namibia’s civil servants below management level can expect salary adjustments backdated to 1 April after the government and union representatives reached an agreement in Windhoek on Wednesday. ‘The Namibian’ said the adjustment is divided into a 2.85 percent general salary increase and an additional 4.15 percent covering the re-introduction of bonus and will be spread over two years. The agreement comes after the government made available a further US $20 million for the re-introduction of a bonus and general salary increases. The agreement will increase the government’s wage bill by seven percent.
