Rain-induced floods in the northwest Nigerian city of Sokoto have
destroyed 50 homes and left several hundred people homeless, AFP reported on Friday, quoting state-run Nigerian Television Authority. The floods, the first this year, inundated hundreds of hectares of farmland and washedaway livestock. Similar floods across Nigeria last year rendered thousands homeless.
