MDC official seeks refuge

    JOHANNESBURG

    In another incident of violence, a woman standing as an MDC parliamentary candidate sought refuge in a police station on Wednesday in a remote strife-torn region of southern Zimbabwe, police said.

    A spokesman told AFP that Sekai Holland, 57, the MDC candidate in Mberengwa East, had sought refuge at the police station in the rural service centre of Mataga to escape clashes between political rivals.
