Norway to maintain humanitarian aid

The Norwegian ambassador to Angola, Jorg Leite, said on Wednesday that her government intended to maintain its annual US $25 million humanitarian aid to Luanda, media reports said on Thursday.

Speaking after a meeting with Joao Junior, Angola's deputy minister of assistance and social reintegration, Leite said her government hopes to continue with its humanitarian aid to the war-torn country.

She is scheduled to visit northern Malanje, Uige and Zaire provinces, where some Nordic NGOs operate projects, particularly in the humanitarian field. The delegation is expected to stay in Angola until next week.
