Francesco Strippoli, the head of the UN's World Food Programme (WFP) in Angola, will meet with officials of US-based Food for Peace to appeal for more funding for relief efforts in the war-torn country. In a release received by IRIN, WFP said recent fundraising for Angola has raised only a third of the required amount. "I aim to explain the humanitarian situation so that when the Food for Peace officials go home they will understand that I have not been exaggerating," Strippoli said.
