The death toll of Namibian soldiers backing the embattled DRC government of President Laurent-Desire Kabila has risen to 18 following the death of a soldier from malaria. 'The Namibian' newspaper said the soldier's death was announced by the defence ministry. The newspaper recalled that in the worst toll involving Namibian forces, five men where killed in January
when two helicopters collided. The five included President Sam Nujoma's personal pilots.
