Le nouveau président prête serment

    ABIDJAN
    Fradique de Menezes, qui a remporté les élections présidentielles d'août, a prêté serment lundi comme chef de la magistrature suprême de cet archipel ouest-africain qu'il dirigera pendant les cinq prochaines années, ont annoncé les médias. Bien qu'il soit mieux connu en tant qu'homme d'affaires, M. Menezes a remporté le scrutin dès le premier tour avec 54 pour cent des
    suffrages. Son principal rival, Manuel Pinto da Costa, premier président de Sao Tome, avait obtenu 39 pour cent des voix.
