Mane’s death to be investigated

    ABIDJAN

    Guinea-Bissau’s parliament discussed on Monday an opposition motion calling for an investigation into the death of General Ansumane Mane, a humanitarian source told IRIN. The state reported on 30 November that Mane, who had staged an unsuccessful takeover of the military, had been killed in a shootout. However, suspicion that he had been killed after being captured led the opposition to demand an inquiry.
