Swaziland’s constitutional review commission has decided to sue government for refusing to grant its members leave pay and gratuity for the period they spent preparing a draft constitution, news reports said on Wednesday. The commission’s chairman Prince Mangaliso was quoted as saying that the letters of intent to take legal action had already been served to the government for refusing to provide leave pay to the commissioners for four years. The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Chief Maweni Simelane said: “We met with the commissioners and discussed this issue at length, there are letters outlining all that we discussed. The long and short of it is that they will not get what they are looking for. There is nothing,” said Simelane.
