37 refugees return

    JOHANNESBURG

    The Ministry of Home Affairs said that about 37 political refugees will return to Namibia this week from Botswana, ‘The Namibian’ reported on Tuesday.

    It quoted the ministry as saying that the group would arrive at Katima Mulilo through the Ngomo border post in the Caprivi region. According to ‘The Namibian’ the return of the refugees is voluntary and follows an earlier agreement between Namibia, Botswana and the UNHCR. The agreement granted all those who wanted to return to Namibia a general amnesty.
